Electric drivers have just been handed a rather welcome boost. OMODA & JAECOO UK has launched its own EV Tax Rebate on the all-electric OMODA E5 and JAECOO E5 — and you can take advantage of it right now through Wellington Omoda & Jaecoo.
This new manufacturer-funded saving is designed to offset the upcoming UK EV tax announced in the Budget, which is set to charge fully electric drivers 3p per mile from 2028–2029. Rather than waiting for the tax to kick in, OMODA & JAECOO are stepping in early, giving customers the equivalent of 20,000 miles at 3p per mile as an upfront saving.
The best bit? You don’t have to wait three years to see the benefit. The rebate is available immediately on qualifying vehicles purchased via the national retailer network using an approved 48-month finance agreement. That means drivers get a meaningful saving right from the start, effectively covering a chunk of the future EV tax across the full four-year term.
According to UK averages, electric cars typically rack up around 8,740 miles per year. With the new rebate, OMODA & JAECOO aim to cover two to three years’ worth of the forthcoming tax, helping keep running costs low and long-term ownership more affordable at a time when EVs are becoming a central part of the country’s decarbonisation plans.

The latest E5 comes fitted with a new 61 kWh battery, delivering a WLTP-estimated 267-mile range. Charging has been boosted too, with 130 kW DC and 10.3 kW AC capability, plus improved integrated charging rates of 80 kW and 9.9 kW. A heat pump now features on the E5 Noble, helping maintain range even when the British weather acts up. There’s also an updated adjustable passenger seat for added comfort.

JAECOO E5 Luxury
Fresh to the UK, the JAECOO E5 Luxury packs a 61.1 kWh LFP battery, a 207 PS motor, and 288 Nm of torque, giving you up to 248 miles of range and a 0–62 mph time of 7.7 seconds. Charging from 30–80% takes as little as 27 minutes with up to 110 kW DC fast charging, and there’s an 11 kW AC home setup for everyday convenience.
